Have now been back stateside for about a month, though in all honesty have only spent about half that time "at home."  Mom and Dad have been dragging me hither and tither and we did spend about a week on the east coast seeing the sights before heading back to Oregon.  I also visited the Middle School Class I have been writing to while overseas.  Plus a few other classes, you know, just because I was there.

Was originally bummed that I was jobless upon arriving home.  You know how it is, series of unfortunate events ect.  But I have decided it was for the best.  I have a place to stay and money in savings, plus I seriously underestimated how much stuff I needed to do to get my life back in order.  I am almost there though, all the various cards, the insurance, car issues, other important paperwork ect. is finished.  The last thing is taking the drive test at the DMV next week so I can get my license back.  Word of advice, if you are ever leaving the country for a significant length of time you can get it renewed a year before it expires so you don't have to take the test.  Pity they don't tell us these things in advance but such is life.

Yes, am now back in the land of my birth, where everyone speaks the same language I do.  Fluently even.  And is home to such things as public libraries, more than two flavors of cheese, dogs of the domesticated variety, malls, cinemas, and a host of other things.  Which is not to say everything is perfect.  Since my license was been expired more than a year I have to jump through all the hoops in order to get it renewed.  It is like being sixteen again.  I also need a new car, and then a job, but I have managed to take care of everything else.

Also, on the writing front since I have noticed I am way behind:

Eye of the Beholder   is finished.  Still haven't figured out what my next chapter fic will be.  However, now that I am back something will be going up soonish.

One shot collections in progress:

Feathers on a Wing: Drabbles from the Kuroba 'Verse which was inspired by the translation of Kaito's name, a picture I saw once, and Icka's comment that 'Yes, Kid is just a little bit fae.

PoaT: Canon AU
: Like the title says, how would the episodes/OVAs/movies have happened in the Phantom of a Thief 'verse.

26 Little Screams: I scream, you scream.  We all scream for Starscream.  Most recent drabbles are Rouge, Options, and Spectre.  Next one should be up within the week.

And last but not least, posted a single Hetalia one-shot entitled Suum Cuique.

Part Eleven of  Eye of the Beholder is up.  Just the epilouge to go and it will be finished.  Honestly, when I started this I wasn't expecting it to become a full story.  Usually when I post a fill on one of the memes it is only three or four parts.  I have too many ideas of my own, see my plunnie corral here, to be writing those of other people.

As for real life, it has stopped raining which is good.  Having the sun come back out means I have a chance of drying my blue jeans without it taking a week.  Also, happy day.  Now that there are two veggie stands in my village the older one is trying to get an edge over his competition by selling some exotics that he ships into site.  Am currently happily munching on a strawberry.  I know, for those of you in America and Europe this does not seem like a big deal.  In Morocco it is.  Maybe if I am really lucky there will be peaches one week.  The season was so sort this year it was practically non-existent.

Since the day I moved into this house nearly two years ago, I have been struggling with the kitchen floor.  For starters, it is white (in theory).  Made of some kind of plaster with bits of rock mixed in.  I swear, it attracts dirt like a magnet attracts iron fillings and is just about impossible to clean.

I tried mopping it with soap and water.  The effect was minimal.  Then floor cleaner, same result.  Then I tried taking a scrub brush to it.  That, well I admit it was working before I noticed it was taking chunks out of the floor as well.  I even tried pouring non-diluted bleach on it.  Nada.  The best result was this omni soap but I had to scrub hard with the cloth and use water so hot it burnt.

Where is this going you ask?  Yesterday I was cooking when I accidentally spilled some vinegar on the floor.  Since it was vinegar and not say honey, I just left it there for a few minutes while I finished what I was doing.  Then I went to clean it up.  Lo and behold, there is now a perfectly white spot on my kitchen floor.

Arg! If only I had known this when I moved in.  Ah well, at least now I will finally be able to get the floor back to its proper color.

Well, the inevitable, which I have been half expecting since the day I arrived in Ouzoud has finally happened.  The heavy rain last night was seemingly the last blow the bridge needed.  Yep, it collapsed.  Honestly, considering the construction, it is only one-lane, and the amount of weight that goes over it every day, I am amazed it didn't happen years ago.

So yeah, they just finished pulling the transit out of the river a few hours ago.  I hope they do manage to rig up something that people can walk across.  Otherwise to the best of my knowledge the next crossing will be a half and hour round trip.  Down to the bottom of the waterfalls, across, and then back up the stairs, many, many stairs, to get back to the road.

Could be worse though.  At least this bridge was only a six or seven foot drop into the water.  If it had been the bridge between here and AIt Atab someone would have died for sure.

Hello everyone, I have returned.  Had a great time this summer but I doubt most of you really care about that.  You're here for the ficcage.  Well, I will try to oblige.  Updates will start asap and continue until they are done.  I wrote 4 chapter stories, a few one-shots, and a bunch of drabbles, so let the typing begin.

Good news, I have been offered an internship for this summer so the job search is over.  Happy day.  Plus I can stop stressing about it.  In other news, here is a song I wrote when I was part of Detroit's trail crew.  I was super bored.  It is to the tune of The Ants Go Marching.  Dedicated to Joanie, our littlest member.

Experimentation is not always a good thing.  It should have been labeled solar, not spicy.  I think I have fried my taste buds.  Unfortunately I am hungry and it is the only option.  With luck I will be able to drown the taste out with the zingers.

I am such a bad person.  I haven't updated in forever.  Anyway, the baby arrived about six weeks ago.  It is a boy.  His name is Graesen Kendall.  He is still really small and has dark blue eyes.  It is still a little early to tell but I think his hair will be dark too.

Teighan has gotten really big.  It is hard to believe he is only six.  As for Taeryn, she's cute.  There is no other way to describe it.

The downside of working in the woods is you spend a lot of time without access to a computer.  I'm still writing though.  I have tons of stuff in my notebook just waiting to be typed.  I'm home for the weekend so I'm planning to spend more than a little time getting something up.  Thank you for your patience.

Life has been super busy lately.  I am drowning in school work and finals seem just around the corner.  Suffice it to say, I have not been writing as much as I want to.  It is going to take me years to make it through all my story ideas considering I only write one multi-chapter fic at a time.

On the up side, Mom told me I am going to have a new niece or nephew.  That means Taeryn will have someone closer to her own age then her brother, but that means we need a name.

Taya (G)- gift of God         Tamara- Date palm      Tessa- harvester

Tavon (B)- hillside            Tobias- God is good      Tyr- norse god

Maybe something with an S instead, I'll think about it

Well, midterms are  once again coming up.  Sometimes I think my entire life revolves around studying for and taking tests.  I am still working on getting a job for the summer.  I am currently applying for one I would really like so wish me luck.  Also got dragged away from college for my parents aniversery party.  Lots of people way older than I am.  The only upside was that I got to see my niece and nephew.  Then, just in case I wasn't injured enough Mom found out my uncle was coming up to Corvallis for some car thing.  I had to get up at 5 a.m. so I could catch a ride.  Depressing isn't it.

Anyway, writing wise.  My MK/DC drabbles Facets of a Gem currently has 14 stories.  From the ashes is also going well.  I have the rest of the story outlined, it is about 1/3 of the way done.  It will probably take me at least a year to finish.  That is a little sad because I make it a point to only work on one multi-chapter story at a time and I have a whole slew of ideas bouncing around my brain.  Oh well, I'll get to them eventually.  If you want to read my stuff just look for my account on, the penname is peppymint.
