Well, I just finished reading Mastiff, the latest novel released by Tamora Pierce.  It was awesome, as always.  At least, the story was, the cover not so much.  It looked like Beka's head was on backwards; her armor just didn't flow with it.  Though I was more than a bit sad when the traitor was revealed.  I would have preferred that there been a bad guy following them.  But then, I have always been a sucker for happy endings.

If you haven't read this author you should.  She writes fantasy surrounding female protaganists.  I started reading them when I was a teenager and the appeal has never dulled.  I suggest you start with the Song of the Lioness quartet.  The first book is called Alanna the First Adventure.  It is about a young girl who switches places with her twin brother and disguises herself as a boy because she wants to be a knight.

As always, I am looking forward to Pierce's next book.  However, as much as I would like to learn about Numair's early years, I would really rather hear about George's.  She could call it King of the Rouge.  Alas, I am not her and thus it is not my decision.  Sighs.  Ah well, I will just have to cheer myself up by locating a copy of Neverwinter Woods which is Salvatore's latest FR novel.

Unfortunately, that is not as easy as I would like.  Yet another thing I miss about the United States is public libraries.  Just six months more of my Peace Corps service to go though, and then I will be back in the country of my birth.  I am still trying to figure out how the time passed so quickly.
