Happy Easter everyone, and on another happy note, I have been offered a job for the summer season.  I think I will have fun, as well as hopefully make a few contacts that will allow me to settle down in a permanent position.  As much fun as seeing the world is, it would be nice to stay in one spot for more than six months.

Well, due to a new job and being sick my Naruto/One Piece Crossover Hedging Your Bets is not quite complete though it is getting there.  However, I have come up with this little list I thought I would share.

They stared. The goat had nibbled on the blanket, moving the wrappings just enough to reveal fat baby cheeks and blearily, innocent eyes. But the cheeks were blue, and the eyes were red. Not human. Heather felt Connor's hand come up to rest reassuringly on her shoulder, and his touch banished any misgivings that might have wanted to grow. The world was a strange and wondrous, if at times frighting, place, she knew. There were those who would have called Connor evil, those who only saw what he was and not who he was, and thinking of that she knelt down. The grass crunched beneath her as she placed a hand on the blanket.

"A baby, Connor. A child." The material that the blankets were made from was softer than anything else she'd ever known. "Who do yea think he belongs to?"

Connor was gazing sharp-eyed across the lake and hills, as if expecting something or someone to come riding out demanding... something. Heather was not sure she would want to give it.

The babe sniffled, blinked, and let out a cry that tugged at Heather's heart. She scooped the little one up and cradled him to her chest, shushing it, running a finger along his too-cool cheek... and gasped in wonder as the blue receded. Connor stood, a warm line at her back, peering curiously over her shoulder as they watched cold skin become warm, and ruby eyes emerald. They were green gems like the hills in spring, with the slightest flecks of blue, and they reminded Heather of her mother's.

To Fic

I have returned from the great beyond, also known as the Davis Mountains where my crew was building a fireline in preparation for a prescribed burn.  All in all, it was a good trip, though we had to wonder . . .

WHY THE HECK DOES EVERYTHING IN THIS AREA WANT TO HURT US?!!!


The juniper were prickly and gave us rashes.  The yucca were pointy.  The sotol were even more pointy but less sharp.  The cat's claw has viscious leaves and don't even get me started on the mesquite.  The volcanic rock on the slopes was a pain and there were a truly impressive number of different cactus species.  I made the massive mistake of tripping over one when I looked up to talk to Jon.

No snakes though which was nice.  Surprising but nice all the same.  It definitely looked like rattler country.  Someone left a prompt on my DC/MK collection and I even have an idea for it.  But I didn't feel so good after work today (note to self.  drink more water and don't forget the salt) so it hasn't gotten written yet.

It will be up by this weekend though so keep your eyes open.

Ragnok's eyes widen, he had never heard of a spell or curse like this. "Teleportation then?"

"It must be, but he seems to have no knowledge when he is doing so. All the boy seems to know is that he is one place one moment and another the next. He cannot seem to even follow the simplest direction without getting lost. I instructed him to go left and instead he goes right. He seems to have some sort of sixth sense, he can detect when he is about to be attack, we saw that with his fight with Captain Snapfang and the guards. He can also sense when someone is watching him but cannot seem to point in the direction it is coming from." Ripblade shook his head once again, he was getting a headache just thinking of it. "The strange thing is, every time I scanned him, I could not find anything that could be a source of this disability. He simply has no sense of direction."

On another note, someone told me Austin (where I am currently working) has the fourth worst traffic in the United States.  This does not surprise me at all.  Driver's are crazy here.

Good news.  Using a combination of a knife, a pencil eraser, and superglue I have managed to reattach my comma key to my keyboard.  As you can imagine, this makes typing much easier so hopefully there will be some new fanfiction in my future.

Finally got my hands on Cold Days by Jim Butcher.  While I still believe Austin is way too big of a city it is nice that when you request a book the district has twenty other copies.  Otherwise I would still have been waiting when my current job was over.

The book was amazing as always.  Poor Harry Dresden once again must accomplish five impossible things before breakfast.  Otherwise Chicago, and most of the midwest, will go boom.  This novel also had the humorous snark that is an essential part of the series.  Harry is still stuck serving Mab which is a little sad, however there is a bit of foreshadowing which suggests he may be able to get himself out of it in the future, so cross your fingers. 

I was a little disappointed that John Marcone did not appear, though his men did.  Hopefully he will sneak into the next installment.  Either way, it was a great addition to one of my favorite series.  So remember, when you are in a bind, look under wizard in the yellow pages.  His name is Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden.  Conjure at your own risk.

Stupid computer.  My old touch mouse never kept things clicked once I moved off it.  Latest victim of this is that my Dresden Files/NCIS crossover ended up claiming to be in Thai instead of English.  Then it uploaded one of my Transformer one-shots.  Arg.

Anyway, it should be fixed now.  Hopefully I did not lose to many potential readers.

Because I am bored and I may need it for a story one day.

1) To create a sparkling two cybertronians must both a) merge sparks and b) transfluid must be transferred to the carrier

                                       -it is possible for a shallow/partial merge to create a new spark, just not likely.  This means the two do not have to be                                                  bonded though a bonded couple does have a much better chance of producing offspring.

2) In the first stage of sparkling creation the new spark stays in the carriers' spark chamber, growing slightly in size and more importantly gaining stability.  This stage has the highest chance of a miscarriage i.e. spontaneous spark combustion. 

3) When new spark is stable it moves into a very simple protoform (round blob) and is integrated into systems.  Depending on inherited coding it starts to grow limbs and gain a shape.  Carrier should take mineral supplements or the material may be taken from them.

4) Sparkling does not have true armor but back plating are somewhat stiff.  They curl into a ball like a hedgehog when being born.  Chest of carrier opens, no between the legs stuff.  Also curl after they are born if they feel threatened.

5) Real armor is grown slowly.
